COOCOONED

That was us last week.  Almost totally cocooned.  And not unhappily so.

As a result,  we avoided any of the political shenanigans of the week, we saw and heard very little news, we engaged with some thoughtful and caring people and ultimately, stayed pretty much to ourselves.  Not a bad thing at all.

I did, just by chance, hear a little something that caught my attention.  I decided to share it here.

It was a quote by Doug Emhoff.  If he needs further identification, he’s Kamala Harris’ husband.

He said, and I quote: “We should not strive to keep women humble.”

It’s an awkward sentence.  Almost a double negative.  But it deserves thought.

As an old and still-dedicated  feminist, I personally like it.  I’ve played with it in my mind a bit and it has power.  It’s gentle enough not to cause a rash and thoughtful enough to bear in mind.

And that’s that for this Sunday.
