DO HEALTHY BREAKFAST CEREALS EXIST?
So asked the New York Times recently.
Without reading the article, I had to assume the answer was no. After scanning the article, it appears there are variations on that theme. But it makes no difference to me at all what the final answer is because I don’t eat cereal for breakfast.
I have, for many, many years, eaten cookies for breakfast. High-fat, sugar laden, additive-full delicious cookies.
I love them for their forthrightness. They make no pretense of being even remotely healthy. They don’t deny their sugar content, their starch content, their calorie content. They are most likely fiber-free. They do brag about the number of white chocolate chips in each cookie and about the occasional nut that may appear. But that’s as far as they’ll go.
Their labels freely expose all the nasty, nasty stuff that goes into making these cookies so yummy and delicious. In my humble opinion, it’s best to just ignore all that bad stuff and simply go about the pleasures of enjoying one or two of them each and every morning.
I have my priorities and no amount of good sense is going to change my position on this one.
